Set of 3 Louis XV Tall Nesting Tables — Satinwood Marquetry Inlay Top, Deeply Hand-Carved Acanthus Legs & Apron with Bronze Sabot Feet

Description

Commanding in presence and extraordinary in detail, this Set of 3 Louis XV Tall Nesting Tables is a masterwork of classical French furniture artistry. Standing notably taller than standard nesting tables, these pieces carry an air of genuine antique grandeur — their slender proportions and deeply carved surfaces speaking directly to the great ébéniste traditions of 18th-century France.

The largest table features a stunning quartered satinwood veneer top with a hand-crafted floral marquetry centrepiece, bordered by a continuous beaded gilt brass trim. The carved apron displays a richly detailed central floral rosette flanked by bold scrolling acanthus leaf relief — matched by equally ornate carved acanthus mounts running down each cabriole leg. All tables conclude in authentic bronze sabot claw feet, a defining mark of period Louis XV craftsmanship. The two smaller tables carry the same veneer pattern and carved leg profile, making the full set a breathtaking unified composition.
